The Forgotten
Living, working and studying in downtown Vancouver truly allows one to observe the constant struggle between the shadowy underbelly of drug abuse and homelessness within a flourishing metropolis.
Day after day I would see people sleeping, eating, scavenging but not truly existing among the regular nine-to-fivers. I unfortunately had the pleasure of reporting a man, frozen to death. He existed, dead, among the suits of Coal Harbor for over eight hours before someone, myself, even noticed he was there. Dead. I always wondered if anybody cared, or if he even had a funeral. I wondered if his family ever knew ...
